Civic (Social) Membership
As a social member, your family can participate in activities outside of the pool season. Annual events include our Bunny Brunch, Halloween Party, Winter Holiday Party, Paint Night, St. Patrick's Day party, and “Girls Night Out” Shopping Night. We also have kids movie nights and some "adults only" karaoke nights, sports parties, trivia nights, wine-tasting, and more. Events are added and deleted as dictated by member volunteer interest.
Pool Membership
The pool season runs from approximately Father’s Day through Labor Day each year (at the discretion of the Pool Director). The club has a full-size private pool and a separate wading pool area for toddlers. Swim lessons are offered throughout the summer at no additional fee. The facility has an adjacent playing field and basketball court. There is also an outdoor picnic area. The Cannonball Cafe snack bar is open weekdays throughout the summer. Some of the volunteer-run summer activities include: swim meets, field day, tie-dye day, kids triathlon, weekly crafts, story time, and summer BBQs. Pool membership includes Social membership as well and gives access to a discounted clubhouse rental for events from September - May. There is an initiation fee for new pool members in addition to the annual dues.
Capital & Operational Expenses
The Board of Directors is currently working towards producing an Annual Report for the membership to understand the Civic's finances. We operate on the calendar year for our fiscal reporting. In short, the initiation fee is put into a capital fund to support larger projects, we also raise money for this fund through larger events such as the Golf Tournament. The annual dues are used to pay for operational expenses including, but not limited to, the maintenance of the clubhouse facilities and grounds, the utilities, and the pool operation including the lifeguard payroll. Most social events are run on a "break-even" approach which means we are just covering the cost of holding the event. There are other events, such as the Spring Fashion Show, which specifically raises money to support high school senior scholarships (members in good standing may apply for a select few scholarships).
